This session features an interactive expert panel that explores the often overlooked reality of men who experience betrayal through a partner’s sexual acting out, affairs, compulsive behaviors, or emotional abandonment. This session examines how betrayal trauma uniquely impacts men’s emotional world, masculine identity, attachment system, and spiritual life. Through research-informed discussion, real case examples, and Christian integration, participants will gain practical insight into assessment, stabilization, trauma-informed treatment, and long-term healing pathways for betrayed men within both individual and couple-care contexts.
Professional Learning Objectives:
Identify the unique emotional, relational, and spiritual manifestations of betrayal trauma in men, including shame responses, attachment disruption, masculine identity rupture, and spiritual disorientation.
Apply trauma-informed and research-supported assessment and treatment frameworks (e.g., stabilization, trauma processing, attachment repair) when working with male betrayed partners, while avoiding gender bias and spiritual bypassing.
Integrate Christian theological principles—such as identity in Christ, lament, boundaries, truth-telling, and redemptive restoration—into clinical, coaching, and pastoral care for men impacted by sexual betrayal.
