From Surviving to Thriving: Helping Couples Rebuild Intimacy After Betrayal

Clinton and Charity Munoz

Founders of Restored 2 More Inc.

What does it take to move couples from crisis to renewed intimacy after betrayal? Most couples enter recovery in survival mode, but as healing deepens, the question shifts from “Can we survive?” to “Can we thrive?” In this highly interactive learning lab, counselors, pastors, and leaders will collaborate on guiding couples toward restoration through emotional, spiritual, and physical connection. Together, we’ll examine statistics, identify common barriers, and share insights that foster deeper connection. Drawing from neuroscience, attachment theory, and ministry experience, participants will gain practical tools and shared wisdom to help couples move from surviving to thriving.

Professional Learning Objectives:

Identify how individual recovery programs can create distance and conflict between spouses.

Discuss and apply trauma-informed communication tools that rebuild safety, trust, and foster emotional intimacy.

Equip leaders to help couples navigate their faith to cultivate grace, understanding, and restored spiritual intimacy.

About: Clinton and Charity share a passion for restoring marriages and creating transformative, hope-filled resources for couples navigating the aftermath of betrayal, trauma, and sexual addiction.
