Eileen will explore the subject of the children when sex addiction and betrayal recovery are occurring in a family system. She explores what is recommended in addressing the kids. She has done the research and has found some interesting patterns in the data. Eileen speaks from a professional perspective on this subject while also sharing some of her own story and some of the things that she has learned the hard way. She will also be presenting some of the research provided generously by Carley Pool of Daring Ventures.

Explore research on what and how to share with children when betrayal trauma is present.

Discuss how not telling children the truth is gaslighting them and often leads to greater damage later in life.

Consider the various risks of not informing children about what is happening in their homes.

About: Eileen Bowman, LCSW, CCPS has been working in the area of betrayal trauma with couples, as well as partners since 1998. She has led groups for partners, co-facilitated retreats to support partners and provides clinical therapy services. She is APSAT certified and possesses a genuine warmth and compassion for all those affected by sexual betrayal and has a strong desire to continue to support, educate and advocate for families to live in the light and to remember that "It is our secrets that keep us sick". Eileen resides in Knoxville, TN and does speaking and writing on the subject of betrayal recovery as well. This marks her 4th SILS summit. She has been on her own healing journey from betrayal trauma since 1998. Her marriage unfortunately ended in divorce in 2015 due to the ongoing betrayals, however her passion for helping in this area has only increased over the years as she has gained more healing and freedom.
