Relationships are central to our God created design and essential to experiencing God's intended life for His children. Community is a vital expression and experience for relationships, discipleship and freedom from addiction. Through a collective learning lab, this session will walk through practical approaches and tools for forming and nurturing small groups and spiritual communities in both church and clinical environments. This will include small group facilitation philosophy and skills, therapeutic processing techniques and various scenarios for walking with others in a safe and effective context.
Professional Learning Objectives:
Discuss the vital role community and groups play in personal growth, identity formation and recovery from addiction in the context of God-designed connection.
Examine spiritual community as a path to address learned trauma responses, distorted self-beliefs, and dysfunctional relational patterns.
Explore various examples for engaging in and leading groups, including tools and best practices in forming authentic connection within spiritual and recovery community.
