Relational trauma can break your heart, but it does not need to break your life. Despair and growth can co-exist. Posttraumatic growth (PTG) is available to all who have experienced traumatic events in our lives. With resources, research has shown we can transform pain to become a stronger person, acquire richer relationships, grow spiritually, change life priorities, and create more opportunities. Scripture also validates this same growth in James. 1:2-4. We will share research results from Deb Laaser's research and talk about practical ways to work on PTG as a betrayed woman.
Professional Learning Objectives:
Participants will be able to describe three clinical models developed to help spouses heal from betrayal.
Participants will be able to name resources that help create post-traumatic growth.
Participants will know how to respond to a betrayed woman when she comes for help.
